I had the pleasure of photographing Foundation 61's Showcase.
I only found out about Foundation 61 after being asked to photograph the event and I admire the work that they are doing each and every day. Foundation 61 provides a live-in community on the outskirts of Geelong, offering hope and direction for people dealing with life controlling issues. These issues are often, but not exclusively, associated with the use of drugs and alcohol.
The foundation provides individually focused rehabilitation programs for people with life controlling issues. Their residential program includes full board in a safe and secure residence with onsite staff offering 24 hour support. Their holistic approach aims to support participants on their journey to full recovery and to provide a variety of resources and life skills to assist individuals to rebuild their broken life.
I fully support their work and was happy to volunteer my services in support of this excellent cause.
Foundation 61's current programs are provided for men.
The showcase directed by Teyha Robertson and was run to raise money for Foundation 61 to enable them to create these services for women.
Local artists, lowercasepoetry and Bellarine Jongleurs also supported Foundation 61 by performing for free.
